I missed this what with being in Boston and hacking up half a lung and in general just following the US stimulus debacle, but it seems that Venezuelans have decided that if they feel like electing a public official for a third (or subsequent) term, then there should be no impedement to this being done. So that means that Chavez will be able to stand for election again in 2012 — alas neocon hawks! Hugo will be around for yet longer. Assuming of course his government can cope with vastly declining oil revenues. But we shall have to watch this.
